There is no cure for this condition that's why the medical treatment strategies are aimed at dealing with the symptoms and reassuring the patient that the condition is just benign. Symptomatic relief and prompt healing is the goal of the treatment. The disease usually resolves spontaneously within 6 to 9 months for cutaneous and a bit longer for mucosal type. Till then anti-inflammatory corticosteroids are added as a part of treatment regimen.
